Mobile Weevils

Never seen or heard of these things before.

Just went to make cup cakes with dd and seen tiny things in the flour. Quick Google and got my answer.

Fingers crossed we get no more.

Anyone else had/got weevils?

It's been an educational day for me. Don't think I will leave flour in the bag again.

Used to see them when I was younger as my Granny always just turned down the top of the bag but I tend to buy the actual boxes with built in lids nowadays just in case

That's what I do, turn the bag down. Oh I didn't know that you could buy them with built in lids. Will keep an eye out for them.

Thanks Gryff, just going through everything just now then going to wash out the cupboards. Oh and pop canisters onto my shopping list.

DH nipping to shop on way home so we can still make cakes later.

We get them - they even get into the flour boxes with built in lids. Check everything else in the cupboard, they get into everything. As we buy new flour, sugar etc it gets tied in plastic bags, all other stuff goes into Tupperware. They’re a pain.

The only one I've bought/seen is Homepride but you could just transfer the flour to a tupperware type box when open too. Anything we open either gets a clip on it, put in a bag with clip or popped in box with sticker with expiry date but I'm maybe a bit ott with this type of thing !

I feel it's such a waste the items I've just binned. Do you put the flour bag into a carrier bag and tie the top?
