Free Half board- ? counter service
Hallo, just booked a trip for 2020 with the free half board, couple of questions:
we are staying a Davy Crockett Ranch & understand breakfast is "grab & go", can you also use the voucher in counter service locations in the parks? the lunch/dinner voucher, i understand is for buffet meal but can be used up to its monetary value in table service? Can this also be used at counter service and if so is it a voucher per meal or again monetary value? meaning possibly getting 2 counter service meals for one voucher? Thanks

One voucher per person per meal. Depending on level you have it can be used as part payment for higher tier meals in Disney owned restaurants. So rainforest, Ludwig's etc they can't be used in. Cast members don't recommend you use them for counter service meals due to monetary value. You will only get that €16 meal on the voucher, no change so losing about €15 or more depending on your level (standard, plus or premium). You can use at table service so not restricted to buffets.

At DCR you will get standard level half board, the lunch/dinner vouchers will have a cash value of €29 per adult, so if you do use them at a counter service location you will be losing half the value.
Regarding breakfast, as far as I know you can only use the credit towards the takeaways breakfast from DCR, the only upgrade is towards a character breakfast at Plaza Gardens. |

However, many of the counter service will allow you to get up to the voucher value in other items, so for example we often go to the Sandwich place in the village ( name escapes me but the one run by DLP ) before the train and you can have multiple items up to the value of the voucher, so we end up getting a meal and then extra cakes etc for the train back
They have also swapped in the past for us spare vouchers for cakes/ drinks up to the voucher amount without doing a set meal option Edited at 02:33 PM. |

I'm actually not sure how it'd work now that everything is on the Magic Pass and not paper vouchers.
I guess it depends if all of the till systems are updated to accept the passes. Otherwise it'll just be solely the restaurants that are included on dining plans. Hopefully someone will give it a go and feedback. x |
