Cruise Booked through Thomas Cook

Firstly feel so sorry for all those who have lost their jobs.

Just wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation.

We booked our MSC cruise for November via Thomas Cook I’m a little confused (flights are booked separately direct with BA so we still have them) but is a cruise classed as a package as they are essentially transporting you and providing accommodation or is it just classed as accommodation

I’m waiting for an update from MSC as when I rang they were waiting on the senior management team to decide how they will deal with things - they hope to start contacting customers later today and continue through the week but I just wondered if it’s covered by ABTA as it’s cruise only or not.

Do you have an ATOL certificate?

P&O have stated that any cruises booked with them via TC are ATOL protected.

I’ve checked twitter and a few people are asking the same question but no response yet.

Unfortunately I think you may need to hang tight. So frustrating that one cruiseline can advise quite quickly but others can’t.

Have everything crossed for you.

Firstly, a cruise is a package holiday under the Package Tour regs.
This is the message from MSC this morning:

We have a cruise with RCI booked through TC. On RCI’s website is information about what to do, so I’m guessing other cruise lines are doing the same.
It does say they are contacting customers in cruise time order.

Thanks Stecee I saw that RCL and had put a notice on the website - I’m in no rush as I suspect they need to sort those due to go in the next couple of days first - I still have to book a couple of things (excursions and car hire) but they can be done last minute so not a problem

What a relief for you, enjoy the cruise. Where is it to? Don't forget your ESTA printed out.
