I often wonder about how words first came about for things ...

Why is a fly called a fly when other things that fly aren’t?
Why is an orange called an orange and is it named after the colour or the other way around... why isn’t a banana called a yellow?
On a clear day we say it’s sunny, on a clear night with moonlight is it also moony?

Living in the country I can’t understand why there are so many roadkill birds... they can fly! Lost count of the number of birds I see legging it full pelt across the road 🤔

DH has misplaced 2socks a pair of gym gloves and a t shirt between our last stop and here and yes I ticked them off the packing list and they are most certainly not in this room

How come when I say let’s step back the sAid socks gloves etc miraculously appear in his carry and m bag with the current glove
And best running shoes ( which seems to come in second place after the golf shoes )
38 years on I know him too well we won’t go there about his ( golf trousers) he just can’t play golf in golf shorts and he’s tried but I can’t drive in a skirt

Sandra, one of our cats go berserk when we’re on the phone and we can’t work out why, it’s very odd x
