Mobile Insurance claim

We are due to travel to Malaga from Aberdeen on Sunday with KLM and then back with Ryanair to Manchester a week later ( long story)

We’ve had this booked since last November and have been sitting tight just in case the govt guidance changed.

I’ve contacted our insurance company Insureandgo and they have sent me a claims form to send back.

I noticed on the form that it asks have we advised the airlines that we aren’t travelling.

Do I need to do this or can I simply just attach my receipts to the claim form and send them off.

I tried messaging KLM via WhatsApp about 10 days ago and iam still waiting for a response. Haven’t tried with Ryanair yet.

Wondered whether I need to advise that we aren’t flying or just not turn up?

Thanks in advance

We are following the governments advice not to travel to Spain. Would love to go!

When I claim last year I needed a cancellation invoice to show how much I'd paid and the none was refundable by the airline.

I think KLM might refund you.
Are they still flying? Ryanairr are unlikel to refund unless they cancel the flight.

What's your excess on your insurance and does it definitely cover pandemic? Mine didn't this time so we travelled and are now quarentining rather than lose the money.

Is your accommodate open? Can you cancel that and get a refund?

Your insurance is your very last option.

We have a great villa owner that we use and she refunded all our moneys paid.

KLM still flying but they won’t reply to me, thought they might cancel the flight but haven’t so far.

We are owed around £1100 in flights, booked before Covid with annual insurance so we are covered. excess is £140 pp and there are three of us.

I can work from home but DD can’t as she has school and DH can’t either.

I think it's a wait and see if they cancel your flight and refund. Do KLM offer vouchers?

Ryanair won't do anything if the flight is still going they'll expect you on it.

If they don't you'll need to claim on your travel.insurance.

Do double check you have pandemic cover. Mine didn't cover me. It was bought in January.
