Bob Jackson (Yehaa Bob) among the casualties

So sad to hear that Bob Jackson is among the 28000 laid off by Disney. Just reading his post on Twitter you can tell his distress. It is 20 years to the month we happened upon Bob at Riverside and we caught his act every year since then, it has been our most treasured tradition and we have so many photos. This damned virus.
Tune in if you can on Sundays.

Hows my hair? 😥😥😥

I just cannot see the value in onsite stays in the near future. Unless free dining returns you can get a better room offsite. Losing the little magic touches is just the final nail in the coffin.

I’m going to miss the band in Grand Floridian 😢 - read about them getting laid off a few days before this announcement. Loved sitting in the lobby for a bit down time listening to them.

I hope they keep the pianist in the GF lobby - we love listening to him.

The wider concern is that 28000 other CMs have lost their primary employment. If you think WDW employ between 60-65000 CMs this is a significant downturn like never before seen. It’s not just the high profile entertainment job roles being cut. Feel for everyone impacted but with losses of over $360m you have to restructure if you are to survive as a viable business.

I wish him well but I hated that act. Because the bar is not enclosed it took over the whole area - no escape and it was pretty awful in my opinion and not in keeping with the resort. All through my Dixie Landings and Riverside visits that act was the one thing I disliked about the property ...

The redundancies are at DL too not just WDW. Would imagine DL still not being allowed to re-open accounts for a lot of them.

Stayed at por 3 times but never got round to seeing his show unfortunately.
