this

was a tad underwhelmed and its not something i'd watch again & again.. lost count of the times ive watched goodfellas/bronx tale etc

He recreated that at the start of this going through an old people’s home to finish with De Niro in a wheelchair. Not quite the same and a little predictable. I think Pacino was miscast and i’m a massive Pacino fan. They needed to trim the last section after Hoffa by 20 minutes.

I definitely thinking casting younger actors for the flashbacks would have been better. Joe Pesci calling De Niro “the kid”. Was he being ironic like with Little John
This had me laughing out loud

An old post I know but we watched this film this week

Is it just us or was it a bit flat especially the ending.

Funny I thought it was phenomenal- absolutely loved it. I also didn’t know the ‘likely’ story of Hoffa’s demise so found that all very interesting.
Joe Pesci is one of my favourite actors though and it had Steven Graham in who is another.

This is where I first encountered him as an actor- well I’d seen Made in Britain but didn’t know him as an actor until Boardwalk Empire where he was phenomenal as Al Capone. That’s in my top few series, it was brilliant.
If you haven’t seen Boardwalk Empire I would recommend watching that, it is really good, particularly in the seasons where the Mafia come down to take out local gangster and mayor (based on a real person) Nucky Thompson.

We have watched Boardwalk Empire twice and thought it was outstanding. What a wheeler dealer Nucky was. Loved him.

Joe Pesci is another favourite of ours especially in Casino and Goodfellas.

Just waiting for Once Upon A Time In America to come on again as we lost it when we upgraded the Sky box.

Keith. Thank you. Yes we have Prime but I don't know if it's just me but always seem to get lip sync issues and it drives us nuts.
