We got back from Tokyo 3 weeks ago, it was an awesome trip. In Tokyo we really enjoyed the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and the Meiji Jingu Shrine.

Tokyo Disney resort is fabulous. Both parks are great but DisneySea is on a different level to any theme park I've been to before. We spent 3 days there and still didn't get to see all the shows or do all the rides (queues are massive, even on week days).

Google maps is great for getting around, particularly on the trains as it tells you which platform/exit to use. We preordered a pocket wifi device from sushi wifi before we went. Picked it up at the airport and returned it just before we left, really easy.

We stayed in JR Mets Hotel Shibuya - it is just inside the station at the New South Exit.

Small rooms but clean and lovely staff - if 2 lads over 6 foot can sleep fine in the room, most folks could :-)

We did our last night in the Muji Hotel in Ginza - just because we loved the store here in the UK and it was a superb room

Thanks! Would shinjuku near the station be a good place to stay for all the sights? We will have our 3 year old with us so location is important :-)

Shinjuku and Ikebukuru which is one stop away are both good options. We are staying in Shinjuku this time. We are staying in the citadines central. It’s supp to be in the red light district, but we went through this part on our last visit and didn’t have any issues
