I think it’s shocking the fact Barclaycard sent me a text saying I’ve purchased from Thomas cook in the last 12 month and they know Thomas cook cease to exist. Barclay card are fully aware of which customers are affected and they have sent them a text. It would take longer to send the text than it would to press a button to refund.
It depends on how Barclaycard are managing TC Claims internally I guess.. have they setup a team to manage all TC claims or is it going through the standard lines etc?.. who knows.

All I'd say is give them a chance to catch up.

Managed to phone Barclaycard, apparently they haven’t received my paperwork, it can take up to 7 working days, snail mail He told me that once received they would raise a chargeback with the merchants bank , I told him to rewind that statement and asked why was it a chargeback if I had sent in a claim for section 75. He did eventually say that it would be section 75 after I had said no ATOL. To be honest, as long as they’re not waiting for their money from TC banks first before refunding me, I don’t care how the refund is done. He told me that they have no update on how long the refunds would take, could not be drawn on giving an approximation of length of time.

I do not think I will see any monies credited to my account until mid november if I am honest.. everyone is getting different answers.

Spoke to Barclaycard today. They’ve confirmed they have my claim form and documents and that the review team will be in contact in the next few days.

I wonder what ' the review team will be in contact' means, more forms or a refund?

A refund hopefully! I have noticed when I log on to my Barclaycard account on the laptop the Thomas cook transaction is now all in red writing.

I haven't heard anything yet, no confirmation that they've had my forms or anything. So frustrating - I realise that they'll be dealing with thousands of others like us, but a simple acknowledgement that they've received my forms would go a long way!

I was told today to phone back on Friday to check if they have received the paperwork, hopefully they will have done. I'll just keep checking my Barclaycard account until then to see if anything shows up.

The team at Twitter have been really helpful answering private messages, but nothing to confirm receipt or reassure me as yet. First Direct equally as difficult - trying to raise a chargeback claim for seats I booked using my debit card, but nobody getting back to me at all

I got confirmation this evening that they've received my paperwork and it's being looked at. Still sounds as if they're going down the charge back route as he mentioned that the CAA have given out instructions and asked me was it a package, told him flights only so no ATOL protection and that's why I put in a section 75 claim. Apparently the team will contact me if need be. Still no indication of time frame on refund.
Has anyone received their refund yet?
