Premier Inn, North Terminal anyday. Knocks Hilton out of the park.

Have to agree!

I’ve stayed at that Hilton many many many times - for work - and I have had so many problems there!

I prefer Premier Inn in normal times because I was disappointed with Hilton breakfast. Have stayed at Sofitel too and it was very nice but I wouldn't pay a lot more to stay there.

PI is probably a good bet. Bloc hotel is pretty good and in the terminal. Some rooms don't have windows.

I stayed once , found it quite soulless even for an airport hotel. Seems a lot more for what is just a bed for the night and an early start.
As my flights cancelled and I’ve rebooked I booked the Premier north at a third of the price of Sofitel , for me it’s not worth an extra £100.
Credit to Agoda , cancelled the Hilton yesterday and the refund is back on the card already. They seem to be consistently cheaper than the other hotel booking companies and you can get Avios on their bookings too.

We stayed at The Courtyard (Marriott) - a short 5 min walk to the terminal saved on expensive coach transfers (we used twilight check-in when we arrived, so the walk to the terminal on the morning was only with hand luggage). I’ve seen a few Youtube videos of The Bloc - just looks very claustrophobic to me!
