Gulf Coast Stay

Looking for advice! We are planning to head to florida July 2022 - 3 weeks in a villa in Orlando already booked, followed by 5 nights on the Gulf coast. We were due to travel last year and had booked the Bilmar at Treasure Island. Looking to next year prices have soared! Looked at Pier House 60 as it’s recommended and it’s $1000 a night 😱 Is it just to be expected that prices have rocketed now?

Also not sure where to head, anywhere between Clearwater and St Pete’s beach really. 2 adults plus 2 teens. The idea is to not touch the car and purely just chill on the beach or by the pool. Need to be easy access to restaurants (kids are both veggie and none of us do sea food).
Any recommendations or ideas?!

Wow - Bilmar Beach Hotel Treasure Island. I stayed there in 1990 on my first ever trip to the US with a mate of mine who is sadly no longer with us.

They had a decent restaurant on site - lovely French Silk Pie - and had an old Dixie band who played in the bar. We spent a few evenings in a bar across the road called Cadillac Jacks. Great memories.
