I'm currently weighing up 2 rooms at ASM or the dolphin. Part of me thinks I'm mad to be considering ASM compared to the dolphin as the location is amazing and it's still an onsite hotel. BUT it's not a Disney hotel and it's not got the Disney theming and I don't know if it would lack the Disney magic and feel sterile. Got to hand it to them Disney really know how to sell 'magic'

So now its CBR, SSR, BC or WL that they've said they're happy with! We did a night at the BC and WL on our last trip using DVC points, just because we've always loved the look of them. Far too expensive for us for a 2 week trip though! 😲

Our daughter will be nearly 21, and our son will be 19 when we go, so I really thought they'd like the idea of 2 rooms at ASM, however, they simply won't entertain a value resort - I've obviously raised a pair of snobs
Haha, that’s my two all over! They would stay at SSR, as we did stay there once and quite liked it, but it was a two bedroom before the prices went sky high! I wouldn’t pay the prices for a deluxe for two weeks either for the room you get, just too much in my head. We’ve currently got Coronado Springs booked as you obviously can’t book POFQ just now. That looks quite nice - been watching some resort tours on YouTube with the family, just in case they fancied a change - but, nope 🙄☺️

It’s what we’ve done. We have two rooms at All Star Movies. We really wanted this trip to be onsite but we just didn’t want to be all in one room together. Me and 3 ladies would have been hard work. We can get so much cheaper offsite but we just want the Disney feeling. As we have 2 rooms we have twice the credits and when I booked the CM did it as two separate bookings so we have 2 giftcards so it works out at just over $100 a day. Easily a meal each and a couple of snacks a day.

We only need the credit to last us 3 nights and not the 5 we have booked and will be moving to the villa after he 3rd night. Sounds like a mental thing to do, but we had 3 nights booked at Disney from Feb this year that we moved to next august, and have a 1 day complementary ticket left from 2019, so was going to buy a 3 day ticket, then the memory maker on top, then add in food costs for 3 nights, there was barely any difference in price, especially when I took into account the blue light card discount too. Think there was £127 difference, and obv included 14 night tickets and not 3 day base ones!

So we will have $380 (inc the gift card) to last us 3 nights, aim to have dinner at T Rex and Yak & Yeti, using the Landrys card aswell as the credit, then just use it on snacks and quick serve, we aren't massive eaters when it's hot and even though I have teens, they're quite happy sharing a meal still as the meals are so big, so i am hoping we don't spend anything else on food!
