So excited... we have booked our first Cruise !

We have never really thought of ourselves as Cruise People, certainly not my husband.

But on TV last night there seemed a perfect Cruise to try. Especially as our friends have been to the Country.

I am just so excited even though its not till Sept next year.

We fly to Seattle for 2 days then board the ship to Alaska and Canada. At the end we travel by overnight train to Chicago for two nights. (14 days in all)

I really need help planning, even though its early, plus would love other Dibbers who have done Alaska cruising what to expect and tips.

We have gone for one of the best packages because we decided, if we were going to do it, we were going to do it right.

Will I now be a cruise lover, like my most seem to be...

xx

How exciting! I would say, for Alaska, pack layers and a waterproof etc, could be warm, could be cold! And some decent binoculars for all the wildlife spotting.

Comfy shoes for walking daytime, and then some more glam wear for evening (stretchy trousers for all that food you will eat!)

Happy for you Nicksgirl.

Which ship are you sailing on?
The tips are often different for each different cruise line.
What time of year?

Sounds like a great trip.

I agree - a lot of the tips will depend on the ship! I cruised Alaska in Sept 19 and weather was variable to say the least! I had days warm enough to swim, days where it was so wet and windy the ship couldn’t dock and a fleece was essential for Glacier Bay!
Having said that I would return in a heartbeat.
I cruised Princess and it was very much tailored to an American audience in terms of food and entertainment, but they are one of the few lines with a permit to sail Glacier Bay which was a must for me.
There is a link to my trippie below if you want an idea of what to expect 😊
