Anyone been to Gran Canaria recently?
With our October DVC trip looking increasingly less likely we've thought about going to Gran Canaria in the next couple of weeks.
Any do's or dont's? WE are both double jabbed, will have decent insurance through our bank and a Jet2 policy and can get an all inclusive including our flights with our 4 year old for £1,500. The PCR tests are done near resort for about 30 Euros but I feel like I might be missing something simple? Anyone done it or planning on doing it and is there anything else I need to be doing? |

We’ve just got back today …. We’re double jabbed, so just booked an antigen test to do 72 hours before we came home, and a day 2 PCR test through Chronomics. The antigen test was literally the same as an NHS one, and got the “results documents” back within 2 minutes of uploading them.
The only advice I’d say is give yourself plenty of time for checking in as that was our main queues - we queues for over an hour here (mainly because people didn’t have their documents ready) If you can think of any questions just ask! We had a great week away, and it really wasn’t a hassle at all

Thanks Clucky that’s great. We went ahead and booked anyway. I’ve ordered the two day PCR tests for return and I’m going to do the antigen test out there locally. Is that what you did or did you take them with you? Did you see people coming to resort to do them?
I’ve heard the same re the queues. Our taxi will get us to stansted 4.5 hours early so I’m hoping that will be long enough. Am going to print everything off including locator forms, double vaccination proof etc so hopefully that’ll speed us up. We go next Thursday! |

Oh have a fab time! We took the tests with us, as had a package including both. In our resort we looked to be one of the only English there, so didn’t speak to anyone else, so not sure what others did!
It’s a really good idea to print everything out with the QR codes as when we actually got to the check in desk, we were through in less than a minute! People were struggling finding things on their phones, which I’m sure is why the queues were so long. We flew from Manchester T2 and security had no queues at all! We had perfect weather all week, didn’t see a cloud - I’m sure you’ll have a great time
