Are you able to? I know it’s not for everyone and everyone has different circumstances, but the weather is hot and the cocktails are cold ….

Heathrow was busier than I thought. Checked in no problem as BA need you to upload all documentation before online check in, so knew everything was in order before hand.

Used BA lounge for food and drinks(fizz) pre flight.
Boarded on time but was told by captain that due to staffing Issues - assume COVID related- at both Uk and Crete air traffic control, we couldn’t get a slot for 45 mins.
No worries if that’s the worst that happens.
Made up time in flight so landed on time. Immigration weren’t interested at all in our documentation and weren’t picked for random testing.
Luggage took aaages to arrive but Heraklion was quite busy.
Got hire car and off to hotel.
Now to relax!

Good luck to everyone. I know how stressful the run up is, at a time when we should be looking forward to our holidays. Hopefully all worth it x.

We are due to fly with BA too. Was one PLF form OK to cover you and your family? (There was something on the Government site about checking with your airline that it's OK.)

Great news! Almost surreal that someone has made it on holiday who would have thought we would be living like this?

Can you expand on what docs you had to upload for BA please?

Before you can check in online with BA, check your booking a couple of days in advance and they will ask you to upload your vaccine certificates if you have them, your test results if you need them and your. Greek passenger locator form. They will then email you a verification and tracking code. Once your documents are ok you will get a confirmation email which takes about 12 hours.

You can’t do online check in until your documents are verified, but you can of course check in at the airport.

I completed one PLF for our household, I think it’s one per household. At the bottom of the lead passenger details there is a blue button that you click for extra passengers. I clicked 3 times as we have 4 people in total.

It’s really easy and sounds more complicated than it is.

No one in Greece was bothered at all but BA were. It’s totally worth it though.

Have a great time. My sister flew to Corfu last week and stayed in Corfu town for a night. She then got the ferry to Paxos for 2 weeks and is having a great time.
