2. You can park in front of it and unload without the Traffic Bullies pouncing and ticketing you.
3. I prefer the restaurant.
4. In my opinion, it is an altogether more relaxing and chilled out experience throughout.

There are always airport trolleys outside and it takes just a couple of minutes down hill to reach the North Terminal entrance.
Many years ago, it was the only one.

We did the Hilton South Terminal in 2019 and just walked through to the terminal and ate at the Wetherspoons. We did get a blue light card discount on the room, think it was about £130 for the night, the Premier Inn for our dates was only £20 cheaper so we just went for the convenient option. It was ok, we live near Heathrow so don't usually fly from Gatwick & need a hotel, but it did the job.

For September when we booked Premier was about fifty room only Hilton was £80 (varied considerably depending on who you booked with ) but includes full buffet breakfast so pretty much the same difference . I find Premier to be quite noisy too.

I thought I had read on here about possible switches from Gatwick to Heathrow, but want sure how likely it was. Do you think it’s a safer option looking at Heathrow? I tell you, really missing good options of direct from Glasgow 😉

There’s never been anything direct for me either down in the south west 😂

Personally, right now, I wouldn’t book anything that committed me to Gatwick unless it was refundable or changeable. But I have no insider knowledge, it’s just the likelihood that flights will be consolidated into one location.

BA should only need to consolidate if Heathrow start enforcing the minimum slot usage again. I don't think that's likely to happen in the short-medium term.

I don't see Virgin going back to Gatwick any time soon though, their fleet and route network is just too small to justify two hubs while demand is still lower.

I do agree that I wouldn't be booking anything non-refundable though.

Another vote for PI north to answer the original question. Although I don't eat there, prefer the options in the terminal.

Thank you. I’d probably book a flight with RPR added, which makes it less of a commitment and flex only type booking with a the hotel. Thanks again 😊

I guess we’ve been spoiled for a few years with both Virgin and Thomas Cook being direct. At the moment, VA are looking for £6.7K for 4 for an economy flydrive next July 😳. Not sure who would pay that? ☺️

Thanks again for the Gatwick info - definitely will not book anything non refundable!

We have stayed at the Bloc hotel a few times, highly recommend it. It is in the terminal and so convenient. Nice for a wonder around, grabbing some dinner and an evening drink.
