Our local milkman runs a franchise I think. The bottled milk is more than 3 times what I pay in Sainsbury's. We go through a lot of milk, so it's not really economically sensible. However, he also delivers juice, yoghurts and bread etc, and you can order up until 9pm for next morning delivery. It's brilliant if you're short for packed lunches!

We have always had a milkman, same one for 20 years now!

It’s up to 87p a pint but worth every penny to have milk for my coffee every morning when the kids have drank it all the night before.

Yes, we’ve had milk from a milkman for 3-4 years now.

It’s ridiculously expensive compared to supermarket milk, but if we’re helping to keep a man in work then I’m happy to keep on doing it.

Middle aged and keen as mustard so I hope he makes a go of it.

I wouldn’t sign up as I don’t drink any milk and my Wife has a pint every 2 days max so it’s not viable for us or him.

I haven’t seen a Milkman for years but are they still around?

I assume they use vans not floats?
I know they have them in Sheffield as when we have stopped up there we got woken up at 4.30 AM by the milkman. Not sure whether it was a float or van as wasn't getting up at that time but there wass definitely bottles clinking sound.

We’ve had a milkman all my life. Yes it is more expensive but it keeps the milkman in a job and hopefully the farmers get a better rate than the supermarket. They couldn’t keep up with demand over lockdown so I hope that they continue to benefit now. We can get plastic but I opt for glass bottles as they are re-used

We have had milk delivered by our milk lady for years. It is her own local farm. A 2litre bottle is £1.50 so a bit more than a supermarket but it is always outside at 5am, fresh and she delivers in all weathers. She also sells her own home reared turkeys at Christmas.

Why does that mean you can’t?

We get a 2 litre bottle three times a week, so almost the same volume.

As you pointed out earlier it is an expensive purchase, I can't justify paying over the odds for something

We go through loads as well. I have 10 litres a week delivered and son buys his own as well. I’m always saying we could do with a cow in the back garden !
