Cruisers with young children who have sailed before.
I admit that it’s early days, but I have a granddaughter aged 5 who has already sailed twice before and a new grandson aged two who has never sailed before.
I have no doubt that the two year old will enjoy it, but I’m worried about the five year old who has such amazing memories of what it was like pre Covid won’t. Her highlights were hugging the classic characters all day long. She is a gentle soul and she adores them. That was her highlight. Now no longer can she do this but apparently there are no longer even socially distanced selfies with official photographers. Just an ad hoc pic with a character a huge distance away. You can speak to them if they are close enough but it’s more a walk by and wave somewhere kind of experience. I must admit that this is not what I anticipated and I’m worried about tarnishing the memories that she has rather than making new ones. As a family without young children or who have but have never sailed before I’m sure that this will be utterly amazing, but I can’t hide my particular worries.

When we went to Disneyland Paris last year and experienced the selfie spots for the first time I was worried for my son. He has autism and characters mean cuddles. I didn't need to worry we have so much fun chasing down the selfie spots and seeing the rarer characters. The interaction was spot on too. They really do make up for the no cuddles

Thank you. That’s reassuring. It will be different but I’m sure we will make it work.
