Germany

Flight booked for next Saturday to Hamburg.

Anyone travelled recently and know what can be expected from a Covid point of view?

Friend flew to Berlin yesterday and posted this on his Facebook…

Germany's infection rate is less than a tenth of ours, I think, but pretty easy. No pcr departure test required, no quarantine required, so long as we fill in locator form and upload NHS proof of double vaccd status, dead easy.
Getting back to the UK is trickier. Have to do a test at most 3 days before leaving and pcr on day 2 back in UK.

Here, Mask wearing mandatory indoors and on public transport. Surgical masks in shops, hospitality venues etc, higher grade FFP2 masks (only masks in the UK to have been given a kite mark) reqd to travel on public transport. Not exclusively, but the population in Berlin appear to largely be wearing these as required, including the higher grade ones.

Hospitality: early closing, 11pm, venues such as clubs still not open. Sitting outside, no restriction. Sitting inside, show your double vaccd certificate or proof of negative test. Free quick test venues all over the city, turn up, supervised testing, emailed your results to show to a venue. It's said, the places to test are located every 100m around the city, we've certainly seen lots.
