Afternoon Tea At Grand Floridian

I am totally stuffed after this. Just because it's afternoon tea don't think it's just a snack! The menu is really hard to find on the net so here it is. It varies from Bedfordshire tea $30 which we had to the Grand Tea $175 for two people with caviare and champagne

This is your table when you arrive. Nice tableware but not bone china, the only disappointment really. Chairs are nice with cushions too

The first course is sandwiches (egg, cucumber and cream cheese, coronation chicken) and cheddar and sage Derby cheese, crackers, grapes, an onion tart and pickled beetroot.

There is a whole tea menu and yes, you get PROPER TEA. They strain it into the teapot so there are no tea leaves in it and they warn you IT IS BOILING HOT (ha ha)
Mom had English Breakfast. I had Thunderbolt Darjeeling. - two pots.you get over a pint per pot

Second course is a strawberry Jam tart and a fruit scone with cream, apricot jam and lemon curd. Everything home made and you can tell it's all lovely

By the third course you're struggling. Even my mom who loves cakes. She did manage this trifle though

I had the pastries selection which was a Choux pastry swan with lemon cream, a chocolate dipped eclair and a white chocolate dipped strawberry. You could also choose strawberries and cream

This is the table laden. Its really top quality food and we loved it - especially the first decent cup of tea in nearly two weeks!

Lovely, we had it on my Birthday on 2013, really a lovely experience,
I love how they try to make the whole thing so "British"
Hubby had the trifle but I didnt I had the pastry one too.
I also had coffee which was lovely too.

No its not and has to be booked in advance, and when we did it in 2013 we couldnt book online either and had to ring up, not sure if its still the case now though.

Yes children can go and they can have a special children's tea if you want with hot chocolate, cheese, ham and peanut butter sandwich selection or they can have the adult menu. You can book it online now. I really recommend it especially on an afternoon like the day we went when it was ninety degrees outside as its quite cool in there and they don't rush you at all
