That was actually a bunch of professionals showing what they could do. (Opening day?) Darrin really got into the barrel rolls whist I travelled Club World! The inflight movie was drowned out by his shrieks of joy! Drink servings were a little difficult! Thinking of producing a DVD / download of the whole day and offering them to raise more for the charity. What do you think?

I think it's an excellent idea.
I would urge all Dibbers to sign up for next years Grand Day Out and can finally (personally) vouch for what a fantastic event it was, we were so glad we were able to attend this year. It was lovely to meet you all and share the day with our table mates |

Juliemack - thank you for that. It's great when it all comes together and people have fun. The team love putting it all together. The nights we spend by candlelight (Rob is too mean to switch the lights on!) discussing and organising for the day. When we get a result like we did this year for our charity then we know it's all been worth it. And what a great response we get from Mark and the other staff at Blackpool. They help to make it a success too. So glad you enjoyed yourself.

I think it's worth mentioning the prize draw on Saturday night (6th June 2015) and the excitement in the room as tickets were drawn from the see - through plastic tombola by Rob's two beautiful assistants - two young ladies from the audience. Amongst our many lucky winners were "Tink and Peter" (Katie D'Arcy) who won two x One Day (2 parks) tickets for Disneyland Paris generously donated by Fairfx.com
Katie was totally overwhelmed by the win and was already planning in her mind when the two of them might be visiting. This, one of many fantastic prizes donated by our sponsors, helped us raise over£2,000 for Cancer Research UK. We are grateful to all of them and in this instance, Katie certainly appreciated her prize. Here's a picture of the two of them with their tickets: Photo courtesy of Richard Murgatroyd (Donaldtheduck) Edited at 07:36 PM. |
