We used the explorer pass for ESB, TOTR and The Ride too. I booked the ride way in advance too (as soon as the dates were released) - they were very helpful and had no issues, it was simply a case of a couple of emails from what I remember.
I mistakenly printed more than 1 copy of our passes and, in a hurry on our way to ESBmanaged to grab 2 of the same passes. Fortunately after much pleading and a fairly long wait the lady agreed to look up the numbers following the passes we had. These obviously tallied to our group as she then let us use them. I was very careful after that!
