When's the best time to book a hotel for 2020

We're planning a return & think will go between late March & early May. We want to book flights with hotel off site, when's the best time to book / any offers likely to be out?

Thanks!

Which hotel are you planning on staying in? When you can book hotels generally depends on the hotel and whether you book direct or through an agent. You can usually book with a travel agent much sooner (even if hotel only) but they're not necessarily guaranteed until the hotel releases their pricing, which is usually around a year out at most hotels.

I pretty much always diy. I always stay offsite, either Villa, hotel or more likely a combination as I tend to multi site my vacation.

When I book my flights, I want as much flexibility on entry and departure locations as well as on dates. I will happily move dates for better flight deals.. or airports!

I never, ever book Hotels (or villas) before I have got my flights. I build my vacation having obtained the most price variable part of all... the flights.

As this is generally 10 or so months out, I have never had any problem at all getting exactly what I want, through Expedia, booking.com, trivago or other similar search engines.

Hope it helps.

Really helpful, thank you! Still not sure where to stay yet - debating onsite but have stayed off site before & able to afford a really nice one. Decisions!
