OKW still has the usual mugs, glasses, paper plates and bowls (with designs!) in the studios. We arrived when it was freezing last week and so requested extra blankets and they arrived promptly, ditto the requested wine glasses.

As usual, we had no issues with housekeeping. I have lost count of the number of check-ins I’ve had over my 22 year membership (3 resorts this stay) and have rarely had an issue worth mentioning. Just lucky I guess, but believe me, as a one-time room maid in Switzerland in a high-end hotel, I know high standards, but I’ve always been quite happy with what DVC provides. Well, happy apart from the many knocks on the door on the day of departure, but even that didn’t happen today at OKW

We've only found paper/plastic in the BLT studio (2016) everywhere has always had proper glass and crockery.

However, I did find that our 1-bed at BLT this year didn't have any of what I would consider a mug - it was barely larger than a teacup. I just made tea in our refillable mugs!

What I DO thing they should do, though, is not assume that all guests know which bins to use in the case of recycling (heck, it varies from town to town in the UK), and they should also leave instruction manuals in one of the drawers. We found our dishwasher at OKW was beeping and had no idea how to stop it. I couldn't even unplug it because it was plugged in behind the units. I pulled the lever and it started to make a lot of noise, so released it again. However, the noise did annoy DD for a long time as she was sleeping on the chairbed.

In the end she got up, moved the lever, the dishwasher made a lot of noise for 10 minutes and then all was silent. But I haven't the faintest idea how these things work - and why would I?

Regarding faulty stuff, I think there was something wrong with the microwave in our studio at Jambo in 2016. 3 minutes in there and the water still hadn't boiled! They don't give you a kettle, and we were so frustrated because we just wanted a mug of tea!

Our freezer at OKW in 2015 didn't work. I didn't bother reporting it because I didn't think there was anything they could do. I did report it on check-out, though. She said I should have reported it - they would have swapped it out while we were out the same day!

Strikes me that there are a lot of little things wrong with DVC property. I noticed our GFV dues went up more this year ...
