London advice
Hi,
We are thinking of going to London for the day tomorrow, just got Merlin premium annual passes in the sale so hoping to do the London Eye and Shrek. Train prices are extortionate so thinking of driving and parking outside of London and getting the tube in. We will be coming from the Midlands so the M1 - does anyone have any recommendations of places to park? No more than half hour away ideally. Thankyou in advance for any replies. |

We live in the midlands and my husband travels in to London every week. He drives to Ickenham tube station which is on the Piccadilly line.

On the outside of your preferred timing but luton airport parkway is 5 minutes from the M1 and the fast trains are about 30 minutes to Blackfriars which would be handy for the London eye as you can just walk along the river.
Car park is a good multi storey and trains run until late. |

We are in Leicestershire and have always used Stanmore to park up and travel into London.

Getting Excited

Uxbridge or West Ruislip are easy to park in the station carparks. Uxbridge is prob more like 50 mins into w1, West Ruislip approx 40 mins. Both of them the train is empty when you get on, so guaranteed a seat.

When you have decided on the tube you are going to use, there is a web site called park.com, put the tube station in and it will bring up parking nearby at good rates. Often loads cheaper than the station car park!
We use it all the time, got two days parking for £2.50 close to a tube station once! |
