My brother had an American Akita called Boris, he was lovely, he has a South African mastiff now who is also lovely but absolutely huge. My brother has always had big working dogs, hes lucky he can take him to work as he works outside so gets plenty of walks and exercise.

What I find very sad is the list of Kennel Club endangered breeds. Some are right on the edge of dying out in this Country and they are dogs that were popular when I was young.
Who would have thought Bloodhounds would be on that list, mind you horrendous B.O! Corgis Skye Terriers Bedlingtons etc etc Very sad.

I have a Lakeland and a Lab, the Lakeland will challenge anything when on lead, off the lead he’s a big baby and stands behind the lab if another dog barks back at him.

I'd love a Bedlington, a school friend had two and they were gorgeous!

Tom we have friends who have Skye's Bedlingtons and Dandy Dinmonts the gene pool is so small now they have had to take the decision at times not to breed or their dogs as studs
I was brought up with Skye's and Bedlingtons amazing dogs it's in fact descendants of Mums dogs they have now |

Gryff. I suspect they are long gone now but I used to see a Lady walking two Kerrry Blues along the man road near me. No dog went near them!
Dandy Dimonts there's a name from the past. Gutsy little dogs. Far too late for us now but we always fancied a Clumber. Love their eyes.
