We thought the massive Chow down the road had got him, but it was Tiggy chasing the Chow as fast as his stubby legs would carry him and the Chow running away in abject fear!
You don’t see Pekingese much these days do you ?
I used to want one I could call ‘Moog’ from willow the wisp 😆

My brother had an American Akita called Boris, he was lovely, he has a South African mastiff now who is also lovely but absolutely huge. My brother has always had big working dogs, hes lucky he can take him to work as he works outside so gets plenty of walks and exercise.

What I find very sad is the list of Kennel Club endangered breeds. Some are right on the edge of dying out in this Country and they are dogs that were popular when I was young.

Who would have thought Bloodhounds would be on that list, mind you horrendous B.O!
Corgis
Skye Terriers
Bedlingtons etc etc

Very sad.

I well remember my Dads Lakeland Terrier. A right hard knock and would challenge anything, that is until they stood their ground then she ran away.
Much preferred the Labs that followed her. More loving, faithful and placid albeit crazy around people who they thought existed just to see them!
I have a Lakeland and a Lab, the Lakeland will challenge anything when on lead, off the lead he’s a big baby and stands behind the lab if another dog barks back at him.

I'd love a Bedlington, a school friend had two and they were gorgeous!

Gryff. I suspect they are long gone now but I used to see a Lady walking two Kerrry Blues along the man road near me. No dog went near them!

Dandy Dimonts there's a name from the past. Gutsy little dogs.

Far too late for us now but we always fancied a Clumber. Love their eyes.
