Sky Q dropping sound
Does anyone else experience this with their main Sky Q box? Every 30 seconds or so the sound drops for about half a second. I have been online and lots of people report the problem but there doesn't seem to be a solution. It's not the TV as when we are watching Netflix etc we dont have the problem so it's definitely something to do with Sky.
Sky have said an engineer needs to come but they can't come until 23 Dec and whilst there are much bigger problems in the world I can see it just being a case of changing some settings and so if I can sort it myself I would rather do that than have to waste an engineer visit. |

Do you have a sound bar or just the tv. First thing is switch off the q box and the tv and sound bar if you have one at the mains, leave for 30 seconds then switch back on and wait for it to boot up and try. If this doesn’t work change the hdmi lead for a new one and see if that improve it.

I did yes.
I'm wondering if the HDMI leads I have tried aren't good enough quality for some reason but we need a 5m lead due to where the box is stored and so it's an expensive outlay if we're going to need new ones. I couldn't say what "type" of leads we have though as I'm not tech savvy enough to know the difference. I know I chose mid price ones with good reviews from Amazon when I got them |

It should be at least 1.4. Have a look at the Black Friday deals. Their is a decent looking one that’s 5m for £7.75

I had a slimline one that keep dropping out and changed it and it then worked fine then that one went the same. Change again and it has been fine since. That’s why if you put them into the wall you should always put in extra leads just in case.
