Bahama bay

Good evening all

Looking at booking our next trip for August next year. We usually get a villa at highlands reserve as we have the inlaws travelling with us. As there will only be 2 adults and 1 child Bahama bay looks a good option for us.

As my DD10 has Autism and Cerebral Palsy I need to check out the resort as much as possible. Any information on the suitability of the resort would be appreciated. What are the additional costs if any?
Looking at booking through travel city direct. Are the rooms spacious? I know the location quite well so no worries there.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

We love Bahama Bay. The rooms are indeed spacious, as is the feel of the resort. The pool areas never get too crowded, even in the height of summer and the resort is well maintained and feels safe.
There were no resort fees or extra cleaning fees when we stayed although you could opt to pay for cleaning if you wished. We cleaned the apartment as we went along.
We were 2A and 1C and we got a three bedroom apartment. It had an entrance hallway that led into the dining area. There were two large double bedrooms off either side, with built in wardrobes and plenty of storage space. One bedroom had a double bed, the other had twin singles. Off the inning room was a spacious and well appointed kitchen, with a breakfast bar dividing it off from the living area. The living area had sliding doors onto a good size balcony.
Off the dining area was also a short hallway leading to a large family bathroom, with a gigantic shower and two sinks.
Opposite was a utility cupboard with a washer and dryer in it.
Off the living room was a big double bedroom, with a king size bed (or was it queen?) Fitted wardrobes, plenty of storage and an ensuite bathroom with bath, shower in bath and 1 sink. The bedroom had sliding doors that opened onto a separate balcony again.
The apartment was clean, though there are signs of wear and tear of course. We didn't mind this though…it was lovely. I'll add some pics for you, but it's a great resort.
It also has a beach area, multiple pools, nature trail around a lake, and it's on Lake Davenport, where it's quite likely you may see a gator or two…we did!
Lot's of wildlife around the resort too!

Hello there

I see Reereef has already sent you a few photos, but there are more photos/info about Bahama Bay here. The Resort is set in over 70 acres of land, so there is a lovely feeling of space when you walk through the beautiful gardens.

There is a departure cleaning fee and a daily Resort fee, but these tend to be included included as part of the package when you book when with a UK Tour Operator, but it's worth double checking.

Re flights, Bahama Bay is ideally situated for either Orlando International (MCO) - 45 mins drive - or Tampa (TPA) which is about 70 mins drive.

If you'd like more photos, information or even maps to find the Resort, just send me a PM with an email address and I'll be happy to send the information over.

If you have any other questions, please ask
Lisa

I would like to add to what others have put, we stayed in 2012, loved it. Beautiful place, you hear a chorus of frogs once the sun goes down. Loved that there was a safe in the apartment, missed that this time. Easy drive to the parks and restaurants, but also major roads for any further afield trips.

I thought Bahamas Bay was great - stayed in Lisa's condo over Christmas and would happily do so again.

Some pics from around the resort on my flickr

We stayed at Bahama Bay last year and agree with what everyone else has said. Already talking about returning one day!
