I just did mine last week, went to the booth at asda...input £6.00 it took the photo and gives you a code. When you apply online, you input that code and passport office pick it up. No need for signature to verify. very easy

Did mine on my mobile, took about 5 mins.easy peasy. Just take a few photos with your mobile first and if it declines one just try another.Good luck.

We did ours today but used a photo booth. It said was too dark but I uploaded anyway so am now thinking it will be rejected. Also there is some strange white line. Wish I’d taken my own now

Can I ask how people who did it themselves sent their passports back? Does it tell you what to do on the online application?

If I remember rightly, when you apply online it gives you a reference number and you return your old passport quoting this reference.
As others have said- taking your own photos is quite easy. I took mine and DH’s on my phone. When you upload, the systems checks and accepts or rejects immediately. Mine was fine, hubby’s not! Had to reload a different photo for him. |

We did my husbands a few weeks ago, all online and took a photo using my phone. It tells you how to take the photo and what's acceptable etc and then when it's done you get a reference which you include in the address to send your old passport back. Think we did Husbands on a Saturday, posted his old passport next day delivery on the Monday, he got his new passport back Thursday and his old one back (with the corner cut off) on the Friday. It was really easy.

I did the renewal in branch at the post office just take your passport and they take the photo there for you so no worrying if it’s right or not and they do the form which for me is amazing as I hate forms and it came within a week.
