Goodbye Virgin 747s with photos!

If you ever wonder whats happened to the 747s...heres one, along with BA 747s and others.

This is in St Athan on the former RAF airbase slide deployed waiting to be scrapped.

I took these today. Felt quite sad seeing them. I could not see the name of the craft, but I gave her a wave goodbye from all DIBBers

Gavvy. I spotted at least 2 maybe 3 BA747’s at Cardiff Airport when the BBC was reporting from there this week.

I doubt they are heading into the maintenance facility there so suspect that facility is scrapping them instead as they have done that before.

There are 6 parked up around BAMC hanger all waiting to be scrapped as of today - we parked up by the flying school in Rhoose on way back. They all still look usable. We saw the same BBC report and laughed as it made cardiff look so busy- and we all know just how dead that place is!

Not sure you can see from the photos, but the Virgin craft had a slide out and one of the cargo doors was missing. There was a huge side panel of a BA craft on the floor too but didn't get a pic of that.

Shame the Aston Martin Factory next door didn't have some of their spoils on display too haha.

My Son got me this for Fathers Day. Our favourite seats in PE
This was from Tinkerbell when she was scrapped at St Athan.

My Son was mooching around there on Nights as he went to the Police Air Support Unit which is on site there as well

Now that is cool, I quite fancy the old PE seats- before the made them leather and thinner, they were so comfortable, wonder if there are any of those kicking about haha.
