Flight Socks
Is it better to have them fitted by the doctor or just buy them & are they really needed!
When we went in 07/08 we wore them, in 08 they were so uncomfortable I took them off. I'm debating whether or not to have them this year!

I've never worn them and had no problems but I do keep rotating my ankles and stretch regularly.

I just bought mine from Chemist. They are tight but they are meant to be. I do have to roll the cuff down at the top as it leaves marks in my leg which is not a good look

But I shall insist on them being worn with sandals when we are doing our dance up the aisle Pat. Its my own very fetching version of the Norah Batty look

I had to buy new ones this time as previous ones I was in agony with half way across the Atlantic. I looked on amazon & found ones which are much more comfortable.

I bought some Schol ones from Ebay for OH & DD but as I suffer with a blood clotting disorder, I will wear the ones I wear every day which are fitted for me by the hospital. I'm also on Warfarin and will need blood thinning injections.
Speaking from someone who has had 2 blood clots after flying long haul, I would recommend them. |

My feet swell terribly but I had to top wearing the 'over the counter' flight socks as they were stopping my circulation

Depends why you want to wear them?
If you suffer from thrombosis, VV, phlebitus, etc then yes, definitely use them and remember your exercises.
