will it tune and display a tv channel without a signal, the speckles will eventually ease the burn, I have done this before left it on all night and the burn was barely noticable.

my current TV goes blank after a second of having no signal to save power not sure if this is changeable in the power saving/eco settings

In your LG TV menu you should have an option for "Pixel Refresher".

Try running that to see if it helps.

With oled TV's you will see some image retention long before you actually get burn in. Hopefully this is what you are seeing and it can be cleared out by the refresher which tries to even out the wear across all of the LED's.

Doing the pixel refresh and my tv is off now I think, how do you know when the refresh is complete.

Cannot advise on answer but please come back when you have completed this as would love to know outcome.

YouTube burnt a few "buttons" on our OLED screen that you can only see in certain colours - red screen show them up wonderfully

To manually activate Pixel Refresher, you will have to select Picture → OLED Panel Settings → Pixel Refresher in the settings. Once manually activated, the function will run for approximately one (1) hour. During this time, a horizontal line may appear on the screen; however, this is not a malfunction. '

This is what I found, so about an hour. Which is similar to my Philips.

Did the pixel refresher and the TV came on automatically however unfortunately I still have horizontal lines running along certain parts of the screen. It was worth an attempt.

Completely unrelated but can you use a 4k disc player on a 8K tv?
