Tesco to stop giving Avios

The connection between Tesco and Avios is being stopped from the middle of January.

Though it seems more complicated because unless you have the Tesco app then the last time Avios will be deposited to your account will be the end of October as the next deposit date is after the cut off.

Next question is who will Avios partner with another supermarket or not, some speculation it could be Waitrose some it could be Sainsburys.

Thanks. I didn't know this. I wish they would partner with one of the cheaper supermarket brands but guess they might feel it doesn't suit their key demographic.

Seems avios collection options are shrinking all the time.

Yeah, got the HeadsforPoints email with this news this morning too.
They speculate that a Waitrose/John Lewis/Avios tie-up could be an option?

Yes, I see that but just speculation at the moment. I would be happy with that tie up but who knows, could be M and S.

Waitrose would suit me - I miss the VS Air miles and Waitrose tie in a lot so there is a hole in that market (Ad BA always prefer more high end/high profile companies so its possible 🤞&#127995

No more Avios from Tesco Clubcard

Tesco and BA are ending their voucher swap scheme to convert Tesco vouchers to BA Avios - swaps to Virgin Flying Club (as was) reamins unaffected.

Credit re article - Head for Points.

No worries, I guess it could go in either place. Just good to have the information out there.

That’s a shame. I get my petrol at Tesco, pay with my BA Amex card and use my Tesco points card. I get Avios from both.

Thanks for posting under chat. Like you I saw it in Head for Points but I like the discussion here on chat - as I would never fly back to Florida under my choice I would and do use them for LAX & DXB so interested very much on developments and yes it may determine where I shop
