January! Vero Beach or AM-I?

We usually spend a few days in AM-I when we go in August.

However this trip we are going for New Years and we are thinking of spending some time on the coast.

Looking at prices for AMI are really high but still do-able! However then I thought about Vero Beach, roughly the same price but at a Disney resort!

Has anyone been to both? Are they comparable?

We love AMI and the beaches. I know going in January isn't going to be as hot as in August but is VB a nice beach area also?

Any input is great appreciated.

It's a lovely area but an expensive area especially in Snowbird Season. Cost wise I don't think there is much in it. Disneys Vero Beach Resort is charming though. All in all, probably AMI would be better in Jan.

I love Vero Beach and would live there if I could, but the Atlantic coast can be chilly at that time of year and the resort often does maintenance in January and February which might mean some facilities are unavailable or restricted.

We've just returned from Vero and it's perfect at this time of year
