To be fair I sent her the pic I put on here but also the one with all the hairs attatched, she must of thought Thats gonna take ages so if I overprice she will go somewhere else!

Wow, I'm seriously undercharging!

There's no doubt that the westie cake with individual fondant hairs would take hours and hours but £350 does seem a lot. 30 desert portions perhaps (although still expensive) but I'm assuming 30 party pieces looking at it!

Mind you, have you ever looked at the Jane Asher cakes website? Seriously overpriced and very dated looking IMO

Maybe those cakes were just too expensive for Jane to keep going ... some people seriously overcharge for their cakes !

Thanks for all the info guys, do you think I can make fur in a garlic press or buy a potato ricer, can I just attach it with water? Thanks again

I sometimes make hair in a garlic press. Hadn't thought about a ricer. I think it needs to be tapered really but it's definitely worth a go to speed things up

You may be better twisting them by hand to give that look of thick to thin if that makes sense maybe if your DD will help then one twist and one stick ... and yes should stick ok with water... maybe do a bit at a time then go back to it .Good Luck
