First but not Last, Day 1

Lovely first day, and so glad you discovered the charms of DLP. It is indeed a beautiful park. I love Discoverland lit up at night too.

Hyperspace Mountain is a very recent overlay and no-one is sure whether it will stay. The very first version of Mission Space was much more in keeping with the Jules Verne theme, and many fans hope it may return some day, who knows?

Phantom Manor is indeed a completely different story. It's worth reading about it, as it ties in the whole Frontierland area - the town of Thunder Mesa. The original English narration by Vincent Price still exists but is rarely played - I've never heard it live.

Glad you like the arcades. We once did a park tour, and were told that the gas lamps and other features actually go up in age from the front to the back of the arcade, so it doesn't all date from the same period.

Julia did very well to do so much in that heat. I think if you went at a cooler time of year, and maybe stayed at one of the nearer hotels, she would find it easier.
