What would you do?
So after 3 years away we will be back in Florida! However the past couple of years have shown us there is more than Florida in America. California last year was amazing and we have an equally exciting East coast trip in October planned with New York, Washington, Boston etc. See pre trip for more info!
Anyway next year will see DS1 finish school and head off to Uni (hopefully) and after much discussion we decided on a 'last' trip with him when school finished for his younger brothers and be back for A level results so he can party/commiserate (delete as appropriate) with his friends. With this meaning dates were limited to go I was keen to book asap plus I like to have flights confirmed early then I can get on and plan! I've been checking the usual sites for a while and booked this week. However I had a brainwave at the last minute and rather than book the 3 weeks in Florida originally planned decided to look for a multi city option. DS1 is not coming on the October trip and was gutted he would miss NY so I thought let's try and so this next year. However no bargains for NY when I was looking meant I ended up booking flights to Boston and a return from Miami 22 nights later! Flying Delta and Air France code share from KLM. Delta even allow us to prebok seats free of charge so that was a bonus . Now the dilemma. DS1 has asked to visit NY, Busch Gdns and Miami. I'm happy to do that but also want to combine some new things bearing in mind we will have visited NY and Boston and have been to Florida many times and been all over. I'm thinking about Cape Cod or New England somewhere for a week? with car hire. Drop off car and bus/train to NY followed by 3 nights there. Then fly to Tampa and hire a car there for remaining time finishing in Miami with time at Anna Maria (our fave place) ❤️❤️ on the way. Or do I do 4 nights in Cape Cod, 3 NY and then fly to Knoxville and explore Smokey Mountains driving down to Florida finishing in Miami taking in Busch Gdns on the way plus some beach time? Or what else could we do with our 3 weeks? Other than flights nothing is booked so anything is possible. I'm looking at trip reports and mileage but welcome ideas and any suggestions. I should say we love travelling and boys are more than happy doing long drives so that's not an issue. We loved doing seeing more of the country in California which is swaying me to a BIG road trip but would it be too much. We love Florida and a more chilled holiday does appeal but so does the idea of new places and celebrating possibly our last trip with eldest.
