They use Amazon. One of the most advanced cloud systems on the market.

For some of their customer facing stuff systems maybe but the vast majority of "back end" systems are old - they don't talk to each other and I repeat they need a massive upgrade. I know several people who work for them and the tales they could tell.
The times their MDE account site and ADR sites go down are without number. Ask the Dibbers on here. I recently had an experience with DLP and their systems where couldn't get my meal reservations made because the system was down for 3 weeks - 3 WEEKS! Only when I emailed Catherine Powell (CEO) direct did I get any sense out of them.

By the way my husband is managing director of his own IT company so he knows of some of Disney's "ineptitudes".

Geoff. Reminds me of when I was working. New boss launched a new website. Except it was a new front page with the same old creaking system behind. Hilarious if it hadn't been so tragic!

Probably an excuse. They most likely couldn't service the rooms, think of all the difficulties the cm's would have getting to work.

We were at Pop and it was super busy! They were housing LOADS of Florida locals who were forced to evacuate their homes. Everyone at Pop did an outstanding job to keep things going. Yes, we didn't get fresh sheets on our beds for two days but we had power, food and running water. They did a great job. We also saw a LOT of military around the resort- not sure why they were there.

So we thought, leave villa, spend last night there. Told that Disneys booking system was down and no-one without a reservation could stay the monday night.

I find that hard to believe. I work in IT and know, for a fact, that any Disney IT systems would be back online in hours (even if they're local to florida which I doubt - more likely to be cloud based anyway).

Very poor. More like Disney could not be bothered to help.
you wouldn't have liked it anyway OP - Disney hotels imposed a curfew .

Major troll warning, this guy has been at it before, best ignored I reckon.

Thought OP's name and tone rang a bell, copy of his over the top rant on a recent thread about some being stuck on the Hogwarts Express below;

"Yeh surely this would be an issue if there was a fire or something? Its got to have emergency exits or something?

If it was me they could keep the Fast passes - I'd be kicking off big time. They've ruined at least a day, caused lots of stress, possibly spoilt your holiday. I know my 4 year old would never go again if this happened to us.

I'd be pushing for major compensation for this or risk me going to the media about how there are no emergency exits. Minimum lifetime pass to universal and refund of current tickets."

Edit: expect Dibbers have seen this, see he's trolled on another post about hotels and curfew! Bye Paul!

Please tell us how you know that for an absolute and definite fact, rather than your pure supposition that it should be so ?
