Linking rentals, Points and a Dave's

Hi,
Still crunching numbers for our trip next May.
Anyone managed to link a rental and own points booking so as to not change rooms?
Looking at OKW studio. T Pond.

I have linked a Cash and a DVC booking on arrival - well is say I have but they had already worked it out anyhow so when I mentioned it they had already done it.

I would ring OKW about 7 days before your arrival and give them the two separate reference numbers. I don't think there is a way online. Maybe even Member Services could do it?

I've had two DVC bookings with a cash one in the middle for BLT before. I just asked at checkin if we could stay in the same room. It wasn't a problem apart from needing new room keys (before magic bands) and housekeeping was mucked up.

If you think about it...you are going to need a room somewhere so shouldn't be a problem to keep the same one.

This has got me thinking, always dangerous!
The year we linked the bookings literally one hour after we had arrived and unpacked they rang me in the room to say they had messed up and we would have to move after two weeks as the car park was being resurfaced and the block was being mothballed for a week.

I declined the offer to move there and then and negotiated two rooms for two days FOC so we had a leisurely move on a pool day and no stressing about rushing. They even offered to help us pack and unpack!

Thanks everyone, still may do a split stay with one as a as rental, the Poly is looking inviting, lol.
Alternatively, the budget side of me we would be happy with a value resort then DVC to save money but finding a room in a values is coming out extortionate at the moment so renting at the Poly is almost the same for a few nights less, madness. Also waiting on AP discounts but you now how late they come out!

This Has me thinking for 2019, we might not have enough points for a big family holiday. Effectively we want 4 studios at 2 resorts over two weeks. Home resort is poly, so I could theoretically book 2 studios at week one and then on the second week, rent points for 2 studios at GF/BCV at 11mths to also guarantee a booking. (Subject costs and what points are left from my own allocation) Could these two the Effectively be linked to our own booking prior arrival?

I guess on this one it would depend on the points you have and whether the cover the whole first two studios booking?
Would this not then just be like a split stay or do you want to change the home resort at 12 months as as to do just one resort for the two weeks?
