Disney cruises - shows

Are all the shows on Disney about cartoons like Frozen and the Little mermaid?

Do they have shows for adults and teens as well?

The longer cruises do tend to have comedians and other entertainers on board. These vary dependent on the cruise. not sure for how many nights though.

DCL does some amazing production shows but they are in general aimed at family audience so tend to be cartoon based. Walt Disney: The Dream Goes on which is on longer cruises on the Magic tends to be an older type show. They also have comedians and other acts. There is also on some of the longer cruises adult performances by some comedians etc.

Thanks for the replies I couldn't find much on the site itself.

Sounds good just looking for possible 2019 trips with Disney included.

They're aimed at a family audience (naturally) and they're are very good but this is one reason why we prefer other cruise lines as we're an older couple and we like the bigger choice of adult evening 'stuff' - varied shows, casino, more bars with live music etc.

7 night cruises and longer will have variety acts and they will sometimes have an adult only show, but that doesn't mean 'adult' as in swearing, sexual references .. this is Disney of course.

Some are better than others, but they're all free and no need to book a space.

Just off the Magic!

Most of the big shows in the theatre are Disney based shows similar to ones you would see in the parks. The 'Dreams' show is particularly spectacular, and really they are all worth a look even if you don't have children or are not particularly into Disney.

One show which was a bit different was a concert by Josh Strickland (Broadway star who played Tarzan on Broadway). That was all Disney songs, but was just him and a pianist, so drew a more adult audience.

Also one night there was a magic show by 'Kyle Knight and Mistie' which I don't think had any Disney theming (I missed it as I was recovering from my stupendous meal at Palo!)

In addition there was a show in the main theatre by Junnk - a UK based group who do percussion on rubbish bins etc. Great fun.

In the smaller venues there are also performances by some of these artists and also others - we saw the Flyboys (harmony singers who were recently on the BBC's 'Pitch Battle' and were amazing). There's lots of live music around too.
