Immigration when on a cruise

Our cruise next year leaves from New York and finishes in New York. I know we have to do the whole immigration thing when we fly into New York the day before the cruise but will we have to repeat it all when we arrive back in New York at the end of the cruise?

Everyone on the cruise will be re-entering and have to go through inmigration. Cant remember for sure but think everyone goes in the same queue - no US citizens seperate lines.

There's going to be over 4000 people on the ship. I can only imagine what the queue will be like

I went from Southamption on a European Cruise and came back to Southampton Idon't remember any immigration when getting off the boat. Why do they check again in New York?

Maybe it's because you are an EU citizen. We've not had to go through immigration when returning to Rome in the past and presumed it's because of the EU.

We arrived at Brooklyn cruise terminal this morning. It was 50 minutes from being called to leave the ship to arriving at our hotel near Times Square.
