Hi Everyone, thanks for taking the time to provide your thoughts. Yes we did really need to sit down and think about what our priority was. My last post was all over the place with options!

I think we have reached the decision to book Disney and get the free dining. When we compared the price of AKL via Dave's to Disney with the dining plan, it just made much more sense to go via Disney. So now looking at SSR.

It's been a difficult decision as I keep comparing the prices to previous trips but as my husband keeps reminding me we are looking at a very different holiday compared to when there was just the 2 of us! I do know that and have actually been the one telling my husband how we'd just do a few hours at a time etc at the park then back to hotel for the kids to rest etc. I think I just got over excited about the price of AKL via Dibb points without thinking about the practicalities.

My heart still lies with AKL though and I am trying to convince DH to spend the extra £350 to switch from SSR to AKL standard view. Cost of this holiday just keeps creeping up... he has agreed yet!

Have you considered OKW? You'd lose the proximity to Disney Springs but would gain a second proper bed. There's no quick service there either. For dining I'd be tempted by SSR but it's worth thinking about OKW in terms of room layout.

We've gone with kids 3 times now (7 months, 13 months, 2 years/4 months) and we find it very similar to days out at home. We like a lazy morning then head to the parks for a good few hours hoping for naps in the buggy, followed by an early evening return to the room. It means that we spend quite a bit of time in the room at either end of the day. I wouldn't spend money that I couldn't afford, but I'd always prefer to have a decent room. That said, AoA wasn't awful and overall we really enjoyed our stay there.

Hi yes I looked at OKW and felt I preferred the 2 bed and the theming but lack of quick service options put me off.

After pricing things up we got some good quotes for hotels and AKL standard was a fraction over £300 more than SSR/AKL. Good food options, great pool and animal viewing won us over. We can afford it ok as I wouldn't entertain it otherwise but it still seems such a lot of money when you add it up.

Hotel is so much more important for us this time compared to previous visits. It will be very much part of the holiday instead of just being somewhere to sleep.

I think AoA will be more of a front running hotel in years to come. We'd hope to take the kids again when they are older and may need the space but that's a long way off!

Thanks again for your help everyone.
