Gatwick Twilight Check in ?

Sorry if this is silly question but never done twilight check in before. I normally check in online and bag drop on arrival at airport but if we want to use Twilight check in on arrival at Gatwick this time can I/ do I check in online as usual ? Probably overthinking things, I usually do start to think I've missed something at this stage so sorry in advance

Yes you can still check in online and they'll tag your bags etc at twilight check in. Never been busy when we've used it and been done within 5 minutes.

We always do it. Just one less thing to think about in the morning.

We normally check in at Gatwick the night before & never had to cue more than 10 to 15 minutes, which as already mentioned makes the following morning a lot smoother 😃

Tried this last year for the first time as we were meeting up with DS and his wife so had things for them in a case. We did quite know what to do so checked in on line as usual but as it was just one queue and no specific bag drop line guess we could have just waited till we arrived at the airport.

Love it. You've got rid of the bags and now have a free evening to go enjoy a meal, have a drink or two and a long soak in the bath.

The following morning you just enjoy a good breakfast and make your way to the terminal with your hand luggage and go through security. So much easier.

Virgin Twilight Check In: 5p.m. to 9p.m.

British Airways Day Before Bag Drop: 4p.m. to 10p.m.

Can I ask a supplementary question? When dropping bags with twilight check-in, do they need to see and tag your hand luggage? Not sure how that would work but for some flights cabin bags are required to be put in the hold if they have not been approved...

sorry Garstoonpops I don't know the answer to your questions, we will have ours with us anyway as we get off Edinburgh plane around the time twilight check in opens so will just go right there maybe someone else will come along and answer this for you

You do not need to take hand luggage to the Twilight check in. You'll be carrying that on yourself and thus will be security checked along with yourself. Any cabin bags that weren't allowed as hand luggage would be screened before it went in the hold.
