Has the Volcano Bay crowds calmed down yet?

We are out here and want to do VB, but I really don't want to wait 2+ hours for the main rides, so has it calmed down much and are weekends a definite no go?

I have read that it's still very busy but less glitches now ! We are going in January I'm guessing it will be us and other hardy brits that don't mind the cold 😂

We went last Thursday (still taking advantage of the Irma low crowds I imagine) but arrived at 9.20 and did all the rides (bar the two drop slides as they were shut, but did do the body plunge) within three hours.

Every ride apart from the body plunge was a ride now, even that was a 70 minute return time that ended up being 30.

They eliminated standing in a que. You can wonder round the park whilst in a virtual que

We went 2 weeks ago and wasn't that impressed. Everything was ride now in the morning which worked our half an hour wait each time.
Loved the pool, but still prefer Aquatica.
Couldn't see the point of the bands whilst we were there as they wasn't in use and we still felt like we queued for ages.
Got 4 rides done, swam and gave up.
Hopefully will be better next year, but we are not in a hurry to rush back.

Actually, they reduced standing in a queue. They didn't eliminate them.

There are still queues. After wandering around in the virtual queue, when it's time to return to the ride you still have to join a "short" queue (around 20 minutes or so). So, for example, it changes a 60 minute standing queue to a 40 minute virtual queue plus a 20 minute standing queue.

Universal updated their PR material to now say that "there’s no standing in long lines". It originally implied that there would be no lines, but that turned out not to be the case.

In August we waited 60 minutes in a virtual queue followed by 30 minutes in physical queue.

Great park but only for hotel occupants and out of season

I take it you can only be one virtual queue at a time?
