Joint of beef - brisket ?

There will be 12 of us for lunch on Sunday so will need a large joint. I want to do beef, Yorkshires etc. I am thinking a rolled brisket so that I can just put it in my slow cooker and let it get on with it.

I usually do two different smaller joints but want to make this as easy as possible since will have three of our grandkids staying over - lunch will be when they get collected and the rest of the family arrive.

Anybody got another idea?

Hmm only ever bought brisket once and found it very fatty didn't seem to be a lot of meat on it. Perhaps it was a bad piece but it put me off for life.

When I have a lot for Sunday roast I usually buy topside, cook it the day before, slice it and put it in gravy and reheat before serving. Gives more space in the oven for all those roast potatoes.

Brisket is fatty, but in my opinion that is what provides the flavour, particularly when slow ccoked.

Stick with brisket

Does it have to be a joint? A casserole would be much easier.

Stick with the brisket - start cooking on Saturday afternoon and it will be melt in your mouth brilliant for Sunday lunch.

I'd stick with the Brisket, it should melt in the mouth if slow cooked and as you say you can just leave it to cook.

Slow cooked brisket... you can get sorted and sit down when you are all ready.
Great choice... but you must have loads of Yorkshires!

I love brisket. Jamie Oliver has a lovely recipe for it which makes it extra tasty. Making me hungry thinking about it.

Brisket will be fine. Like others have stated fat gives it the flavour so as long as it is slow roasted it will be yummy

Can't beat brisket in the slow cooker, melts in your mouth. Just make sure you cook it long enough.
