What do you have in your picnic?

As the summer is getting closer, I'm getting excited to make up a picnic, grab a blanket and go relax in some of the amazing parks/lakes here. But I'm interested to see what you guys would pack in a picnic? I love talking about food, so please give me some ideas!

We have had two picnics recently. Always sandwiches! I like to take olives. Today we had watermelon. I like pitta bread and humous. We always take some crisps for the children. I need to change it up a bit though so great thread, will watch for ideas!

Depends on how far in advance we've decided on a picnic.

A quick 'lets go' then we'll call at the supermarket and get sausage rolls, crisps, grapes, drinks and crisps. If we have longer then we'll have sandwiches (all different!), strawberries & grapes, flask of tea/coffee, and a treat.

I love picnics!

We made Scotch eggs using this recipe for our last couple of picnics - fitterfood/recipe/bacon-...n-scotch-eggs/

They came out quite well and we really enjoyed them, teamed with carrot sticks and a banana!

We also made these for a mothers day picnic but had a few more additions including cocktail sausages (nice ones which we cooked the night before), homemade guacamole, carrot sticks, crisps, strawberries and watermelon!

Ooh and for a morning walk we made a breakfast picnic which included tea and breakfast muffins - sausage, peppers and onions popped into a cupcake tray, filled up with egg and topped with cheese!

Loving all the ideas from the other posts!

Stacey

If it's a spur of the moment picnic and I have to quickly nip out to the local shop it's sandwiches, sausage rolls, crisps and cookies.

If I've had more time to plan and get to M&S, I see what they're selling in their little packs. Still have sarnies but add other things such as humous and crudités, olives, crusty bread and pate, cheese and biscuits, porkmpie with Branson topping.
