Discovery Cove, lots of questions ...

Hi there

I'm so excited, just booked Discovery Cove as a surprise. I know it's an awful lot of money but it's probably our last trip as a family and want to do something different to make it memorable.

I really don't know much about it other than you spend the day there and get to swim with the dolphins.

I have so many questions, sorry ...

Food - I believe breakfast is included, is anything else?

Drinks - are drinks included and I've read about alcohol but is that for upgraded packages?

Photos - I think I've seen that they do a photo package but it seems expensive, can you just purchase one dolphin swim picture?

Towels - do you need to take beech towels?

Cash - do you need to take cash for tips etc?

Wetsuit - I believe they provide wetsuits, I'm nervous as I'm a size 18/20 will I be ok?

Cabanas - I've read it's possible to book a cabana subject to availability nearer the time, is it worth the extra cost?

Thanks everyone, really starting from scratch with this so appreciate any advise.

Food - I believe breakfast is included, is anything else? Yes you get lunch and unlimited snacks

Drinks - are drinks included and I've read about alcohol but is that for upgraded packages? Yes drinks and some alcohol is included and there is a premium drinks package you pay extra for.

Photos - I think I've seen that they do a photo package but it seems expensive, can you just purchase one dolphin swim picture? Not sure

Towels - do you need to take beech towels? No all towels provided

Cash - do you need to take cash for tips etc? Only person we tipped was the lady who looked after us at our cabana

Wetsuit - I believe they provide wetsuits, I'm nervous as I'm a size 18/20 will I be ok? Yes im same size they will fit you. I opted for a vest instead of a wetsuit.

Cabanas - I've read it's possible to book a cabana subject to availability nearer the time, is it worth the extra cost? You can book them as soon as you have booked DC and yes we think they are worth it.
If there is anything else you want to know give me a shout :-)

Food - I believe breakfast is included, is anything else? YES, LUNCH TOO (YOU CAN HAVE AN EARLY ONE THEN ANOTHER LATE ONE!) - SNACKS TOO ALL DAY.

Drinks - are drinks included and I've read about alcohol but is that for upgraded packages? YES, ALL FREE, EVEN ALCOHOL. HIC.

Photos - I think I've seen that they do a photo package but it seems expensive, can you just purchase one dolphin swim picture? PROBABLY - I THINK THEIR IS A MINIMUM PACKAGE - CAN'T REMEMBER - THEY TAKE THEM YOU VIEW THEM, DON'T HAVE OT HAVE THEM...CAN HAVE A WHOLE BOOK!

Towels - do you need to take beech towels? NOPE. EVERYTHING LIKE A HOTEL.

Cash - do you need to take cash for tips etc? NOPE. CREDIT CARD FOR PHOTO PACKAGES OR IF YOU BOOK SOMETHING LIKE SEA VENTURE (ITS AWESOME!) - CAN BOOK IN ADVANCE,

Wetsuit - I believe they provide wetsuits, I'm nervous as I'm a size 18/20 will I be ok? YES. THEY DO JUST JACKETS TOO.

Cabanas - I've read it's possible to book a cabana subject to availability nearer the time, is it worth the extra cost? HMMM...NO... BUT IT IS FAB TO HAVE ONE. NEARER THE TIME THEY OFTEN HAVE GONE. MY VIEW IS ITS SO AWESOME DAY ANYWAY AND SO MUCH TO DO, IT WAS BIT OF A WASTE.

Get some water shoes as can be very uncomfy underfoot whilst doing the swim. Leave jewlry behind as you cant wear it. Sunscreen is provided you cannot use your own.

If you see a towel left on a sun bed, you can remove it and sit there if you want!

Don't book anywhere for dinner that night, you will prob be full.

Waterproof camera might be a good idea, but you can't take on dolphin swim.

Fantastic, thanks everyone.

Definitely going to go for the vest instead of the wetsuit, that's made me feel a lot better.

Didn't realise alcohol was included, might need to look into transport rather than driving.

Would be interested if anybody knows current prices for photos.

Thanks again for the replies.

Great advise, thanks.

We've booked this as a last minute thing and already have an ADR but it's the restaurant at Saratoga Springa where we are staying and not until 8pm so hopefully we'll be able to squeeze something in by then.

Are you on DDP? I would have a QS meal or snack instead, and use that TS credit another day, use to get a 2TS meal, like California Grill. Great opportunity to save a TS credit IMO

We are, I'll have a look what's available, we might have left it a bit late but thanks.

We loved DC and I also thought gosh it's expensive. However, we had an incredible day and loved every minute of it (certainly no room to eat a meal after&#128512. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Enjoy!
