I've hired a car through Alamo Brits, pre-paid and picking up during holiday from Disney Centre, returning to airport.

Am I right in saying that it will come with a full tank of fuel and at pick up I basically have two options, pay nothing extra for fuel and thus return full or pay for a tank of fuel and return empty (or as near as is safe lol )?

I've done this before you know, you'd think I'd know by now!
Yes you are correct it will come full, you can fill it up yourself and return it full or pre-pay at time of collection and return with whatever is left in the tank.

Our aunt and uncle arrived to day and picked up their car with avis. They were offered to pre pay their fuel at $2.70 a gallon we paid $2.69.9 this afternoon to fill our car at racetrack So very little difference.

Pre pay. If I have half a tank left when I return the car then no big deal in the grand scheme of things. I'm not going to be standing at the side of the road near the airport siphoning out fuel so Avis don't get half a tank for free.

If you've got to buy fuel a couple of days before the end of the trip it must cross your mind to try and roughly guesstimate how much you'll need though?

Or do you just wantonly fill it right up regardless?

Yes think if I pre-paid and subsequently needed more fuel, I'd probably be tempted to just put in what I thought I'd need. Too much like hard work and potentially stressful, think it's better to go with the take back full brigade. -

There's generally not much difference in the price per gallon between airport and elsewhere, the main difference is you have to pay a 10% airport service fee for fuel if you take the pre-pay option. Not that big a deal, I prefer to pre-pay.

Yeh I don't worry about the price difference, it is minimal as you say. No, issue would be more playing chicken with the remaining fuel as others have said, don't want that stress. -
Edit: ps, I'm picking up at Disney, take it they don't have 10% added?

They won't have the airport surcharge, but knowing Disney they could have a 'Disney surcharge' especially as you could almost see the castle from there! 😉
