Tipping in Hong Kong and Singapore

We will be holidaying in both Hong Kong and Singapore in November this year. I am not really able to find out the tipping etiquette in both country. Any help would be most useful.

Are you doing a trip report? We are going to Singapore/Hong Kong next year and need all the help we can get!

Should you ever go to Japan - they don't have tipping. So refreshing.

It was not my intention to undertake a trip report

But I will do highs and lows
And happily answer any questions
Our trip starts in early November finishing early December

Highs and lows before christmas

Value don't really tip in Hong Kong. You can round stuff up for taxis. But if you want to leave something do. Can't comment for the really expensive restaurants though. Some places do add a the service charge so check.

I live in Singapore and tipping is almost unheard of. I sometimes round up to the nearest dollar with taxis, but the drivers also sometimes round down to the nearest dollar! Restaurants will automatically include a 10% service charge and 7% GST (VAT) so no tipping required.

Not entirely sure about hotels though and whether you need to tip housekeeping/bell services/etc.
