Has anybody visited either Sea Breeze Resort in Barbados or Coconut Bay in St Lucia and can offer any thoughts?

Really struggling to decide on where to go next year.

Have been to Coconut Bay in St Lucia on a day pass as it is literally right next to the airport - and so we spent our last day there as we had to be out of our villa by 11am but flight did not leave till 6pm. Don't let the airport bit put you off as I don't remember it being an issue

Its OK but it is on the rougher Atlantic side so the sea & beachfront not the best (and no sunsets). It had the feel of a Med resort - lively family orientated place, with plenty going on. Music & activities round the main pool. Food OK - don't think you'd be unhappy but on the other hand, I don't think it would exactly blow your socks off !
Sorry can't comment on the Sea Breeze resort in Barbados... though I would say I'd have absolutely no issue walking outside your hotel in Barbados, even in the evenings, nor driving over there... but I would be alot more cautious doing either, in St Lucia.

Thanks Judy.

We have been to St Lucia before but have always stayed at the Cap Estate.

We are big fans of the Palace/Hard Rock hotels in Mexico so wonder whether Barbados would be a nice change but, at the same time, a bit worried that it might be too quiet for our 19 year olds.

I booked Sea Breeze Beach House for next year with virgin holidays last Thursday and they have just emailed me saying they have cancelled my booking due to a pricing error!

Oh no.

I know it's being refurbished at the moment. Perhaps the hotel are increasing their prices.

I think they would love the Gap area of Barbados - especially places like the Boatyard. Also try the potholing experience at Harrison's Cave. There's a mini golf (inland), Cool Runnings catamaran trips (do the deluxe version if you want to really push the boat out !), paddle boarding...absolutely plenty to see & do... and very safe.
To be honest its not your typical Caribbean island as far more developed than most.

Another place to look at - Grand Cayman...Thomas Cook had some great flight prices there last year (via Miami).

Restaurant Reviews: 1
We went to Coconut Bay in St Lucia many many years ago when it changed over from the Club Med. Then the kids club was excellent (not relevant to you now obviously), and there was a smallish lazy river and 2/3 waterslides, lots of pools, a buffet restaurant and 2 good a la carte restuarants you could go to once a week. The beach wasn't very good, but the pools were very nice and the room was fine. Really near the airport so that was a plus.

If you want an amazing beach/all inclusive then Spice Island Beach resort in Grenada is stunning. But not much there for teens. For Barbados, haven't stayed at Sea Breeze, but I'd say it was more suitable for teens.
